The act of embracing your inner potato-like qualities and simply just chillin' out. Potato fans were not happy with Taco Bell's decision to cut the vegetarian item from the menu. And, for the past few months, Taco Bell lovers have made it known that they were not happy. 'We definitely heard from our consumers — because they love our potatoes,' Taco Bell's global chief food innovation officer Liz Matthews said in a statement.

Grades of Potatoes

U.S. No. 1 consists of potatoes which meet the following requirements:

a.Similar varietal characteristics, except when designated as a mixed or specialty pack;

c.Fairly clean;

e.Free from:

2.Blackheart;

3.Late blight, southern bacterial wilt and ring rot; and,

Bands, Businesses, Restaurants, Brands and Celebrities can create Pages in order to connect with their fans and customers on Facebook.

f.Free from damage by any other cause. See §§51.1564 and 51.1565.

g.Size. Not less than 1-7/8 inches in diameter, unless otherwise specified in connection with the grade.

U.S. Commercial consists of potatoes which meet the requirements of U.S. No. 1 grade except for the following:

a.Free from serious damage caused by:

2.Russet scab; and,

b.Increased tolerances for defects specified in §51.1546.

U.S. No. 2 consists of potatoes which meet the following requirements:

a.Similar varietal characteristics, except when designated as a mixed or specialty pack;

c.Free from:

2.Blackheart;

3.Late blight, southern bacterial wilt and ring rot; and,

d.Free from serious damage by any other cause. See §§51.1564 and 51.1565.

e.Size. Not less than 1-1/2 inches in diameter, unless otherwise specified in connection with the grade.

Potatoes are coming back to Taco Bell. Earlier this week, the fast-food joint announced it was reversing course to bring back the option after slashing a substantial part of its menu last fall. Suffice to say, fans are ecstatic over the move — so much so, the addition has become the talk of social media.

'The return of our beloved potatoes is just the first step in showing our fans the strong continued commitment to vegetarian we are making this year,' said Liz Matthews, Taco Bell's Global Chief Food Innovation Officer. 'We have long been a leader in the vegetarian space, but this year, we have more meatless options in store that vegetarians, veggie-curious and even meat-eaters will love.'
